Climate Protection Plan for the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia
In 2011 North Rhine-Westphalia, the energy and industry heartland of Germany, sought to develop a state-wide Climate Protection Plan through a participatory process involving all social actors. IFOK developed a tailored process in cooperation with the Wuppertal Institute, and then work to implement all components in February of 2012. The technical and substantive work was conducted in dedicated working groups and networking events, ensuring that all social perspectives were considered. The resulting Climate Protection Plan was adopted by the state parliament.
