Climate Protection Plan for the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia
North Rhine-Westphalia is a traditional energy and industry heartland. As a result it sought to develop a state-wide Climate Protection Plan by means of a participatory process involving all social actors.
In 2011 IFOK developed this tailored process in cooperation with the Wuppertal Institute, before moving into its implementation in February 2012 with a far-reaching kick-off event. The technical and substantive work is conducted in dedicated working groups and networking events, ensuring that all social perspectives are taken into account. The deliberatively developed Climate Protection Plan has been adopted by the state parliament.
