“Plattform Industrie 4.0”
From AI to the future of work: the Plattform Industrie 4.0 sees the digital transformation of industry as a social project. Shaping that transformation together is the central idea of the Plattform Industrie 4.0 – one of the largest Industrie 4.0 networks worldwide. Over 350 protagonists from the economy, associations, science, trade unions and the world of politics work together in the platform in three main lines of action: thinking ahead from a specialist point of view, maintaining (inter)national cooperations and supporting the SME sector. In the mission statement for 2030 they combine technology with values of social market economy.

ifok shapes digital change
Together with the VDI Technology Centre, ifok is responsible for the management of the Plattform Industrie 4.0. ifok’s own managing director has become secretary general of the platform. We supervise the protagonists as regards method and content, assist the working groups as communication patrons, and help to produce results. We organise exhibitions, network meetings and events. We set up and maintain international cooperations. And we command the whole repertoire of press and public relations work for the Plattform Industrie 4.0 – from Twitterfeed to printed publication – worldwide.

Our successes
The network of experts on the platform contains specialist mentors for all questions relating to Industrie 4.0. Insights gained from research and practice regularly produce concepts and action options for the implementation of Industrie 4.0.
The Plattform Industrie 4.0 has established Industrie 4.0 internationally as a brand and generates stimuli for the international discourse on the digitalisation of production. The platform maintains numerous cooperations with national and international alliances.
The Plattform Industrie 4.0 offers information and networking amenities for small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany. For example with over 370 practical examples and an overview of test centres on the project’s own website.
