What made you decide to work at ifok?

I am passionate about sailing and my job at ifok is just like sailing, in a sense. When you are out on the water, you need to have everything in view: wind, the weather, water depth, the crew, the other boats and so on. Working at ifok means following the debates, taking on board new perspectives and being a flexible thinker. For me, this means checking the compass regularly and changing direction – both in water and on land.

When did you start at ifok and where were you previously?

I have been at ifok since 2011. Prior to that, I helped to set up an academic institute while also working as a freelance trainer and facilitator for intercultural youth projects. At the start of my career, I also had the opportunity to get to know supply chain management at BMW.

What sets you apart at the office?

My passion is for digitalization. I think you can also let yourself think creatively when you are with me, and I also like to try out innovative methods. More and more, colleagues approach me for advice when they are confronted with confusing situations in their projects. The years of experience I have gained, for example in the establishment of an industry 4.0 network, have proved themselves to be highly transferable in other projects.

What three things can you not do without on your next vacation?

Right now, I am planning a transatlantic trip on a sailing boat, therefore the following are a must – a reliable GPS device, waterproof clothes and cookies, which I never leave behind when on a trip!
