Dr. Hans-Peter Meister

What made you decide to work at ifok ?

I founded ifok in 1995, so if it weren’t for me, there would be no ifok! I am totally convinced that our approach, which is based on sustainability through dialogue, participation and cooperation, is just the thing society needs. How else can you implement measures to protect the climate, for example?

When did you start at ifok and where were you before?

As the founder, I have been there since the beginning, which was 1995. An embryonic version of IFOK already existed two years previously, at my desk at home. Previously, I was a press spokesman in the Federal Ministry for the Environment and then responsible for communications in the area of sustainability at BASF in Ludwigshafen.

What sets you apart at the office?

I especially love hatching new ideas and plans with others and then turning them into reality. I have a good nose for people and new opportunities, which has earned me the nickname “truffle pig”.

What do you especially love doing in your free time?

I love being on the farm, mowing the lawn on my tractor, mulching the garden and then going on long walks with our Swiss farm dog.
