“I like to think outside the box.”

Sandra Krahl
Why do you work at ifok?
The confidence that my work supports projects that have a social relevance. I always look forward to the conversations with my teammates, because they are all nice and you always get constructive and respectful feedback.
Since when have you been working here and where were you previously?
I joined the team in May 2019. Before that, I was at EMBO for almost 10 years, mainly implementing scientific communication projects. At Mannheim University of Applied Sciences (2004 to 2009), I designed and created the corporate design. In Savannah, Georgia, US I did my master’s in Interactive Design and worked there for two years in a state web agency.
What drives you in your working life?
I like to think outside the box. I ask my colleagues a lot of questions at the beginning of a project in order to understand the bigger picture. I enjoy the collegial interaction and constructive cooperation, even in difficult phases. What is particularly important to me is the observable will of ifok to continue to develop and improve, and that the employees are heard in the process. Changes are not only discussed, but also implemented and lived.
What do you like doing in your free time?
I run up mountains with my dog.
What three things can’t you do without on vacation?
A book about “How do I provide myself with a small vegetable garden without weeds” and delicious snacks/nerve food for when I read that it does not work without weeds. And a cozy café on site.
