I appreciate the variety of tasks and topics at ifok. This gives me a lot of room for growth and further development.

Tristan Fuhrmann

Why do you work at ifok?

When accompanying change processes, it is central for me that solutions are developed by those affected themselves. This is not only in line with the democratic ethos of our society – it also leads to better and more consistent results. And at ifok, I get to work on the concrete implementation of this core idea of sustainable change in a wide variety of areas. But apart from the exciting projects, it is above all the cooperation with the highly motivated and ambitious colleagues that gives me pleasure again and again.

Since when have you been working here and where were you previously?

I joined ifok at the beginning of 2019 as a consultant for Open Government. Before that, I was able to gain valuable experience in administrative modernization, organizational development, and development cooperation at PD – the in-house consultancy for the public sector- at the Society for International Cooperation in the Philippines, and as a freelance consultant.

What drives you in your working life?

Since the beginning, I’ve tried to establish the following rule in the teams I work with: “You provide the content, I’ll make the jokes.” Well, what can I say? To this day, my team members deliver the content quite reliably.

What do you like doing in your free time?

In my free time, I read a lot about politics, society, and philosophy, let my bike carry me to one of the surrounding lakes and do volunteer asylum counseling at a large human rights organization.
