What made you decide to work at ifok?

Inspiration and challenge: ifok inspires me and challenges me every day.

Variety: I can always be sure that every day will be different than I expected.

Further development: Not only are the issues that ifok addresses challenging and explosive, but the people with whom I am allowed to work with at the company and in the projects also spur me on to further development and continuous improvement.

How long have you been part of the ifok team and where were you before?

I have been working for ifok in Düsseldorf since May 2015. We started there with three people and are now a team of 15 colleagues in a chic office in Düsseldorf’s media harbour district. Before that I studied environmental sciences, resource analysis and management in Oldenburg and Göttingen. At the same time, I worked in management consultancies and companies in corporate environmental management.

What sets you apart at the office?

At ifok, I am known for my tenacity in difficult situations, e.g. for manoeuvring projects viewed critically by the general public, and for looking after my colleagues at the Düsseldorf office. I tend not to say no to the offer of an Altbier or Kölsch beer in good company.  .

What do you do in your free time?

Adventure holidays are my passion. The pilgrimage to the Santiago de Compostela in Spain has become an annual tradition, and I have also discovered more far-flung countries like Panama and Mexico. Sports such as surfing, hiking and skiing are a must.

Which three things should not be missing on your next longer train journey (or your next holiday)?

Specialist and non-fiction books on business strategies, psychology and health, balanced out by novels by Carlos Ruiz Zafón are my favourite companions.
